FACET Analytical Research and Development
Analytical Chemistry and Dry Products Development
Shounak Bose has joined FACET as part of the Curricular Practical Training program of Butler University to gain hands-on experience in formulation development and solid dosage form manufacturing. Shounak Bose obtained a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm) from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India, and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the College of Pharmacy and Health Science in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Butler University.
Shounak Bose previously developed a formulation for an experimental molecule to treat macular degeneration that demonstrated better ocular tolerance, higher drug loading, and improved drug concentrations at site of action. This project was in collaboration with Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. Shounak’s technical experience includes HPLC method development, differential scanning calorimetry, nano scale particle sizing, viscosity and osmolarity measurement, and tissue culture (cell survivability assays, permeability across animal tissues).
